Wholesale Watches
Everyone is into keeping track of the time
and suppliers of wholesale watches have found that they can
operate a challenging business and make a tidy profit providing
watches from around the world to buyers everywhere. Thousands
of people shop for watches on the Web every day, in addition
to looking for that special timepiece in stores and shops
in every city.
Many suppliers of wholesale watches still work exclusively
with established retailers, resellers, convenience stores,
boutiques and others. These retail sites generally file sales
tax and business license information with the wholesale watches
merchant, then place orders through that company's sales
system. In fact, many suppliers of wholesale watches absolutely
require sales tax numbers and have minimum order levels not
intended for the public.
Yet there are numerous wholesale watches suppliers and distributors
who will sell directly to the public at significantly discounted
prices. In most cases, even the purchase of one or two watches
from such a supplier will save the buyer 50 percent, 60 percent
or more off the retail price. Tip: One of the first questions
you should ask is about minimum order policy. For example,
several suppliers of wholesale watches require a customer
to purchase 50 watches on the first order, then 25 watches
on each subsequent order. This is typical and about average
for those companies that have minimum order requirements.
The good thing about this is that, because of the thousands
of watches available and the hundreds of companies distributing
wholesale watches, 50 items can cost as little as $10 or
$20. (Yes, watches are available for just a few pennies each.)
What is even more interesting about these low, low prices
is that many of the distributors offer only watches made
of metal and then back them with long guarantees, such as
10 years or even a lifetime! Of course, there are wholesale
watches merchants who offer every type of watch imaginable,
made from nearly every type of material, including rubber,
leather and plastic. Tip: It may be a good idea to clear
up any doubts about warranty, guarantee, minimum orders and
shipping before agreeing to any purchase.
When buying wholesale watches in bulk (some orders are for
1,000 watches or more) it is usually not possible to pick
and choose among styles and colors. While some companies
will offer 25 or 50 of the same watch in one order, other
suppliers of wholesale watches have large boxes of mixed
styles. In addition, the individual watches are generally
not in their own box or display container. This is another
detail that should be clarified during the order process.
For those interested in getting started in the wholesale
watch business, many of the larger, established distributors
who have factory-direct contact will help with starter programs.
These plans have a small, starting inventory and support
personnel to get the entrepreneur up and running. But do
not look for franchise banners. Many of these suppliers of
wholesale watches are true wholesale warehouses and distributors.
They do not have complete business opportunity plans. Even
so, the wholesale watch business has grown considerably and
is still looking for new merchants every day.
