Wholesale DVD's and Music
If there is a wholesale
business to rival the enthusiasm and activity of video
games, coffee or fragrances, it has to be wholesale DVDs
and music. The movie and music industry has changed so
much in the last 30 or 40 years, that many people do not
recognize it at all. Listeners and movie watchers no longer
make the theater or the "record
album" their first choice. Using computers and blank
discs or the many suppliers of wholesale DVDs and music,
enthusiasts are bringing entertainment to their homes at
extremely low prices.
When a wholesale
DVDs and music distributor states on their
Web site or in a print catalog that they have a massive selection
of movies and music, they are not just making a sales pitch.
In recent years, these distributors and brokers of wholesale
DVDs and music have compiled huge warehouses of selections
that will satisfy every taste.
What makes this possible? Several things, actually. First,
tastes in movies and music change rapidly, so there are distributors
of wholesale DVDs and music who have plenty to do working
with closeouts and liquidation inventory. When a music store,
a warehouse or reseller decides it's time to clear the way
for new titles, there are wholesale buyers and brokers waiting
to buy the stock in bulk (often truckloads) for the single
purpose of reselling those DVDs and music CDs wholesale.
Whether the public is hot for rock, blues, jazz, horror,
adventure or comedy, wholesale DVDs and music merchants have
stacks upon stacks of items to sell for a few pennies on
the dollar.
Some of these wholesale DVDs and music suppliers are also
encouraging individual entrepreneurs to get into the business
by becoming a drop ship supplier. Larger companies that have
warehouses full of titles will work out an agreement with
individuals and small businesses to have DVDs and CDs shipped
directly to a customer. This means that the seller (you)
does not have to invest in a huge inventory in a warehouse
or storage building. About the only thing required is developing
a customer list and a way to market the product to them.
In comparison to this, there are video/music distribution
businesses that operate in a more traditional manner, selling
from their bulk inventory to retailers and other smaller
resellers.
Sometimes the first-time buyer or smaller
business will run into the obstacle of a minimum order
requirement with the more "traditional" suppliers
of wholesale DVDs and music. In some cases this level can
be set at 50 DVDs or music CDs. Because this has been a
problem for some of the very small entrepreneurs, suppliers
have established a separate sector called sample orders
that help the little guy get started. Prices on this sample
list can range from five DVDs for about $30 to 25 discs
for $125. Many of these distributors and suppliers have
similar programs for music CDs, including the most popular
artists of the last 20 years.
If you find a wholesale
DVDs and music supplier who is as passionate about
the industry as you are, look into setting yourself up
as an independent retailer, distributor or special market
seller. The profits and excitement may surprise you.
